Maritime Natural Products Conference 2013

This year's MNPC was hosted by St. FX in Antigonish, NS. It was well-attended, by undergraduates, MSc students, PhD candidates, post-docs, and professors. Susan Monro and Marc Hetu presented their work in the area of photosensitizing natural product extracts for photodynamic inactivation (PDI) of microorganisms. Both were well-received and elicited a good number of questions from the audience. Monro, a seasoned presenter, showed Hetu the ropes as it was his first time to present his research at a conference. It was hard work, with additions of slides, removal of slides, rearrangement of slides, and many practice talks. However, by showtime, everything came together and we did very well!
